【My Story】 杉浦 友香 (インターン)
SMALL WORLD でテックリクルーターをしています、 杉浦友香と申します。私は現在大学３年生で、SMALL WORLDでインターンとして働いています。
My name is Tomoka Sugiura. Now, I am a junior in university and working for this company as an intern .
SMALL WORLDへ入社する前
私は幼い頃、積極的な性格ではなく受け身でいることが多い子供でした。積極的に発言をしたりする子供ではなかった私でしたが、中学校の英語の先生方をきっかけに、英語を使って人とコミュニケーションを取ることが好きになりました。国籍に関係なく、多くの人とコミュニケーションをとることができる英語に強い魅力を感じ、英語が話せる様になりたい、海外で生活をしてみたいと思い、留学へ行くことができる高校へ入学をしました。高校在学中に、カナダのノバスコシア州へ一年間留学しました。バスケットボールクラブに所属したり、色々なボランティアへ参加をしたり、現地の人に向けて出身国の良さや料理を紹介するイベントに参加したりと、多くのことに挑戦をしながら、その一年間で自分を大きく変えることができました。英語や文化の違いを学んだことはもちろん、日本という国の良さを再確認、やってみよう精神や、積極的にアクションを起こすことの大切さを身を持って学ぶことができました。
When I was young, I was a bit timid and I couldn’t take actions on my own. English teachers in junior high school made me fall in love with communicating with people using English. I was strongly attracted to English because it allows me to communicate with many people regardless of nationality. I wanted to improve my English skill and live abroad, so I enrolled in a high school where I could study abroad. While in high school, I went to study abroad in Nova Scotia, Canada for a year.I was able to change a lot about myself through belonging to a basketball club, joining some volunteer activities, and participating in an event to introduce the goodness and cuisine of Japan to the local people.
Not only did I learn English and cultural differences, I was able to reconfirm the advantages of Japan and also learn firsthand the importance of a "let's try it" spirit and proactive action.
SMALL WORLDへ入社するきっかけ
大学生になり、自分が今何をやりたいのかを考えた時、留学中に再確認した日本の良さ、もの、ことを通して、外国の人の生活を少しでも豊かに、幸せにしたいと考えました。その目標を叶えるために、大学生のうちから実際にその夢を叶えることにつながる仕事をしてみたいと考え、長期インターンを探し始めました。名古屋での長期インターンは東京や大阪に比べると数がとても少なく、自分の希望に沿ったインターン先を探すことは難しいと感じていました。しかし、様々な国籍、バックグラウンドを持った人と関わりながら、海外の技術者の方を日本で働く機会を手助けすることができるSMALLWORLDのインターンの求人を見つけすぐに応募しました。
When I became a university student and thought about what I wanted to do now, I wanted to make the minds of people in other countries happier and richer with the goodness of Japan that I reconfirmed while studying abroad. To fulfill my goals In order to fulfill this goal, I started looking for a long-term internship, because I wanted to do a job that would actually lead to the fulfillment of that dream while I was still a student. There are very few long-term internships in Nagoya compared to Tokyo and Osaka, and I found it difficult to find an internship that met my needs. However, I found an internship position at SMALLWORLD, where I could help overseas engineers with opportunities to work in Japan while interacting with people of various nationalities and backgrounds, and I applied immediately.
テックリクルーターとして働くにあたって、多くの外国人の方とコミュニケーションを取りながら、相手のニーズや経験にあったポジションを紹介する中で、相手の気持ちに立って柔軟に対応することが求められ、言語や文化の壁にぶつかることもありながらも楽しく働いています。最近では、新規プロジェクトのメンバーとして大きな裁量を持たせていただきながら、新たなことへ挑戦をしながら、インターンとしてここで働いていることで自分の成長を感じることができています。
In working as a tech recruiter, I enjoy communicating with many non-Japanese people and introducing them to positions that meet their needs and experiences, and I enjoy working here even though I sometimes encounter language and cultural barriers, as I am required to be flexible and respond from the perspective of the other person. Recently, I have been given a great chance of discretion as a member of a new project, and while taking on new challenges, I feel that I am growing as working here as an intern.
